Want to know “about us”?  …who we are?  Well, this is it!  (Click here for the short and sweet version!)

Lynne KeenerTo start with, I hesitate to call this page “About Us” because I am, for the most part, a solo act.  I don’t have any direct employees.  My name is Lynne Keener and I am a marketer.

BTW, I have a network of friends and acquaintances all over the web and in my home town that I work with.  They help me stay up to date on digital marketing trends and also offer services that compliment the ones I offer.  I’m a lifetime student!

But, in the end – it’s me you’re hiring, not some phantom company.

Now more “About Me” — I am lucky to enjoy what I do.  I have always loved uncovering new ways to market business.  Since graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Business/Marketing, I have worked for both manufacturing companies and  service companies helping them develop marketing strategies to achieve their sales goals.

In the mid-90’s, I was running my own business Keener Information Design Group.   I designed logos and brochures.

When the Internet became widely available , my brother, a Sr. Network Engineer, said, “You should design brochures on the Internet.”

what's the internet

I said, “What’s the Internet?”  Well, I jumped online with AOL (yes, I received an AOL disk just like you!) and Compuserve and started teaching myself HTML.  I got my first paying client 60 days later and built up a nice business doing website design and hosting.

At some point I decided to get back in the race and went to work for Hydrogen Media (morphed into Bayshore Solutions which I highly recommend).  This up-start was backed by the same group that founded Outback Steakhouse and was growing rapidly in the late 1990’s.  I love to tell people I was a Solutions Architect; it was a fun title.  What I did was work with clients to determine the functionality and flow of their website and design it on paper for our designers and programmers to use in production.  We enjoyed the good times — espresso machines, in-office massages…pool tables….disco balls…

Since the dot-com bubble burst, I have programmed databases, taken time off and worked for a few more SMBs.  My husband Mike and I also started a family — we have two middle-schoolers (say a quick prayer for us!)

Social Media Slippers!

Now, over 12 years later, I am back at home — in my pink fuzzy slippers (yea!) — designing blogs and sites and managing social media.  It has been a wonderful ride so far and I’m anxious to see what’ s around the next corner.
